Jerusalem, 23 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Tax Authority reported that in September 2025, compared to September 2024, imports of cigarettes decreased by 4.1% in September 2025.
In the period January – September 2025, there was a decrease in the quantity of imports by 3.8%, compared to January – September 2024, and an increase of 13.4% in the value of imports. This is likely due to imports of more expensive cigarettes.
The value of other tobacco imports, which includes smoking tobacco, hookah tobacco, pipe tobacco, cigars, and heating tobacco units, increased in September 2025 by 17.4% compared to September 2024. Cumulatively since the beginning of the year, there was an increase of 5.9%.
The total value of all imports in September 2025 amounted to $7.8 billion, almost unchanged compared to the value of imports in September 2024.
