Jerusalem, 17 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli cybersecurity firm Check Point has acquired Swiss AI security startup Lakera for $300 million, aiming to build a full end-to-end AI security stack. Founded in 2021 by ex-Google and Meta experts, Lakera specializes in protecting generative AI models, large language models, and autonomous AI agents, with real-time security and advanced research at its core.

Check Point CEO Nadav Zafrir said the acquisition sets a “new standard in cybersecurity,” enabling enterprises to adopt AI safely. Lakera’s Zurich headquarters will become Check Point’s global AI R&D hub, complementing its Tel Aviv development center, while Lakera’s San Francisco office continues research.
