2nd Time in Two Weeks Attempted Smuggling of 100 Pistols Foiled

Jerusalem, 27 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — For the second time in two weeks, an attempt to smuggle over 100 starter pistols was foiled at Ben Gurion Airport.

Customs inspectors at the airport, together with the Ben Gurion Airport Customs Narcotics Unit and the 747 Special Investigation Unit of the Ben Gurion Airport Police Wednesday night thwarted what the police called a “serious smuggling attempt” of over 100 pistols that can be converted into automatic firearms – a serious offense punishable by 5 years in prison. A suspect, a resident of Petah Tikva in his 20s, who returned to Israel on a flight from Rome was arrested.
