Israel Confirms Killing of Hamas Military Intelligence Commander in Gaza Airstrike
Israel's military confirmed the killing of Hamas's Khan Yunis Brigade Military Intelligence Commander, Muhammad Abu Shaleh, in a Gaza airstrike.
Jerusalem, 19 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel confirmed the assassination of Hamas’s Khan Yunis Brigade Military Intelligence Commander, Muhammad Abu Shaleh on Thursday.
The Israel Defense Forces and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) said Shaleh was killed in an airstrike on Wednesday “to remove an immediate threat to IDF troops.”
According to authorities, he took part in planning Hamas’ October 2023 attack. More recently, Shaleh was planning attacks and working to strengthen Hamas’ capabilities within the Gaza Strip in violation of the ceasefire.
