Israeli Innovation Speeds Up Minimally Invasive Bowel Surgery with New Device
Israeli firm Seger Surgical Solutions' new laparoscopic device successfully completed first human trials in El Salvador, enabling faster, minimally invasive.
Jerusalem, 16 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Seger Surgical Solutions, a Israeli surgical technology company, successfully completed the first human trials of its SEGER IDEA laparoscopic bowel closure device. Conducted at Zacamil Hospital in El Salvador, the three procedures achieved 100% intracorporeal anastomosis, completing bowel closures in under two minutes—far faster than traditional methods.
The device allows surgeons to perform complex bowel closures entirely inside the body, reducing incision size, tissue handling, and recovery time.
