Police Chiefs Tour Jerusalem Old City, Assess Security
Police chiefs toured Jerusalem's Old City and city center, assessing security readiness and urging adherence to Home Front Command directives for public safety.
The Police Commissioner, Commissioner-General Danny Levy, the Deputy Commissioner Nir Yair Hatzroni, and the Commander of the Jerusalem District, Commissioner Avshalom Peled, toured the Old City area this morning together with the Commander of the David Area, Superintendent Dvir Tamim, on the streets leading to the holy sites that remain closed to worshippers and visitors of all religions, due to Home Front Command directives. They closely observed the operational readiness of the police officers and Border Police fighters deployed in the area. In the afternoon, the District Commander toured the city center and Mahane Yehuda market, visited the police officers and volunteer emergency teams, and assessed their readiness to secure citizens shopping for Shabbat. Throughout the tour, the Commissioner and the District Commander noted that civil discipline and adherence to Home Front Command directives save lives, and that extreme caution must continue to be exercised until the end of the special situation in the home front.
