Home Front Command Commander, Major General Ori Gordin, visited one of the impact sites in the center of the country today (Monday) along with Tel Aviv District Commander, Colonel (Res.) Miki David, Dan District Commander, Colonel Shani Gershi, and other commanders.
During the visit, he spoke with Amir Shahar, whose home was damaged, praised the conduct of the citizens, and called to continue obeying the Home Front Command’s instructions.
Home Front Command Commander, Major General Ori Gordin, said: “We are on the tenth day of Operation ‘Lion’s Roar’. A decisive, historic, and just operation. First, I want to express my appreciation to the citizens of the State of Israel for their resilience and the fortitude you are demonstrating.”
“We are here in the apartment of dear Amir Shahar,” continued the Home Front Command Commander, “this apartment was hit by a cluster bomb. I know that the volume of launches is a bit lower, and the alarms might be a bit higher, but this apartment demonstrates that even a cluster bomb causes immense damage. Thanks to adherence to instructions and to Amir’s family, this incident ended without casualties, and therefore I appeal from here to the citizens of Israel to continue to stand with fortitude, with bravery, and to obey the Home Front Command’s instructions – they save lives.”
The citizen whose home was damaged, Amir Shahar, said: “If I may add, from the ruins of my apartment, the home my grandfather built a hundred years ago – maintaining composure and responding to alerts and instructions are truly life-saving. My son, my granddaughters ran to the neighborhood shelter. The apartment will be rebuilt, the house will be strengthened, but no one was hurt, and I am full of appreciation for the response of the authorities, the Home Front Command, the police, and the municipality – they really responded excellently, and we will do our part after you fix the damages.”
