Public transportation continues to operate on an emergency basis and in accordance with security directives
Public transportation in Israel will expand to 45% capacity tomorrow amidst an emergency, with some services like Jerusalem's light rail remaining suspended.
In light of the emergency situation and in accordance with the instructions of the Home Front Command and security officials, public transportation continues to operate in an emergency format and in accordance with security directives.
Tomorrow, the scope of activity across all public transportation systems will be expanded and will stand at approximately 45% of regular operations, in accordance with the situation assessment and the instructions of the Home Front Command.
Israel Railways operates from concentrated hubs adapted to the emergency situation. In accordance with the instructions of security officials, the light rail in Jerusalem and Gush Dan, and the Carmelit in Haifa, are not operating until further notice. In addition, “Al Ha’Kav” service centers are closed throughout the country.
Tomorrow, the Fast of Esther (2.3) and Purim (3.3), public transportation will operate in a reduced format due to the emergency situation and in accordance with the instructions of the Home Front Command. No reinforcements will be added to lines, and no special lines for these days will operate as planned, nor will night lines operate, unlike in previous years. Active lines will operate on their regular routes and not on special Purim routes.
The Ministry of Transportation calls on the public to obey the instructions of the Home Front Command and to avoid non-essential travel.
Regarding Jerusalem’s Shushan Purim (4.3), information will be provided later according to the situation assessment.
