Jerusalem, 22 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) Chief of Staff, Lt. General Eyal Zamir, yesterday (Saturday) approved plans to deepen military operations in Lebanon. The decision was made together with the General Staff Forum, division commanders, and brigade commanders operating in the northern sector.

The Chief of Staff expressed great appreciation to the commanders for their work and the achievements they have brought in recent weeks.

“Iran is our main effort and the northern arena is another central arena,” said Zamir. “They are intertwined. Hezbollah is a central branch of the Iranian terrorist regime, and made a serious mistake when it chose to join the campaign against Israel. This choice harms it and the entire State of Lebanon. “

“The message is clear,” he added, “there is no safe place for the regime and its proxies, any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel will be met with a determined, precise, and powerful response.”
