New Strategic Transportation Hub Coming to Tel Aviv
Israel's Ministry of Transportation tenders a new strategic transportation hub for the Tel Aviv area, with over 250 million Shekels invested.
Jerusalem, 5 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s ministry of Transportation and Road Safety and the Cross-Israel Transportation Company today (Thursday) published a tender for the construction of the Pilots Integrated Transportation Center (ITC), which will serve as a strategic transportation hub in the heart of the greater Tel Aviv metropolitan area. The scope of investment in the project is estimated at over 250 million Shekels ($80 million).
The Pilots’ Complex, which is being implemented through the Cross-Israel Company, will be built near the intersection of future Highways 40 and 46, and will constitute an advanced transportation hub that combines public transportation, private vehicles, and pedestrians. According to the plan, the Pilots’ Complex is expected to open to the public at the end of 2028.
The project will include the construction of an advanced public transportation terminal that includes approximately 180 electric bus stations, alongside a large-scale “park and ride” parking lot with approximately 1,200 parking spaces. The center will be directly connected to the end station of the purple line of the light rail, and will include the construction of dedicated bridges for vehicles, buses and pedestrians, in order to ensure efficient traffic flow, maximum safety and full accessibility for all users.
