>>”>Jerusalem, 20 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Aiming to ease a major bottleneck in Israel’s rail network and improve connectivity in the Tel Aviv Metropolitan area, the National Infrastructure Committee’s subcommittee approved the expansion of Savidor Merkaz station in Tel Aviv. Savidor Merkaz is expected to become one of Israel’s busiest rail stations.

The plan, advanced by the Ministry of Transportation and Israel Railways, includes a new platform, a new passenger hall, and an additional 12,600 square meters of station space. It is part of a larger plan to add fourth track to the Ayalon corridor, Israel’s busiest rail axis.

“Expanding the Savidor Merkaz station and promoting the fourth rail on the Ayalon is a national move that connects regions, reduces gaps and creates new opportunities for all Israeli citizens,” said Transportation Minister Miri Regev.
