Jerusalem, 7 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) said it is revealing an “asset” of the Hezbollah terror organization’s underground tunnel network beneath the Beaufort Ridge, and that this network was “planned and funded by the Iranian terror regime.

IDF infantry, special forces and combat engineers are currently working to locate the tunnel network.
It was built in a civilian area, in a location enabling operational control over Israel’s “Finger of the Galilee” region on the Lebanese border, just six kilometers from Metula, and it served as a center for the Hezbollah terrorists in the area.

The network contains several tunnels built to accommodate hundreds of terrorists simultaneously, with multiple rooms equipped for prolonged stay and combat.

These rooms hold water and electricity infrastructure, alongside extensive infrastructure for anti-tank and air defense capabilities aimed at striking IDF forces and Israeli civilians.

In one tunnel approximately one kilometer long, six underground shafts were located, a room used for weapons storage, an anti-tank launcher, anti-tank missiles, grenades, ammunition, combat equipment, and advanced medical equipment, and several living quarters including: shower rooms, restrooms, an operating room, and kitchens.

Drones, shoulder-fired missiles, and anti-tank missiles were launched from the asset area toward IDF forces operating in the area and toward the State of Israel.

The project was constructed in areas where the Lebanese Army operated.

As part of efforts to enforce the agreement between Israel and Lebanon, said the IDF, a request was transferred to the Lebanese Army to address this, but Hezbollah “clearly prevented it from doing so.”
