Jerusalem, 6 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Authorities in Cyprus are continuing a highly sensitive investigation into four Palestinians arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist attacks against Israeli-linked targets on the island.

The suspects — aged 32, 38, 54 and 57 — are being held in connection with alleged terrorism offenses, participation in a criminal organization and possession of materials that could be used to manufacture explosives.
One of the suspects has allegedly admitted that Israelis were the intended targets, though he did not specify where the attacks were to take place.

The 32- and 38-year-olds are believed to have played central roles in the case. Authorities are examining whether they were assisted by additional individuals in Cyprus.

The 32-year-old, who has lived in Cyprus in recent years, has been linked to a residence at Governor’s Beach and to an apartment in Larnaca, where he lived with his family. Police found materials for manufacturing explosives, including ammonium nitrate, at both locations.

The 38-year-old was living illegally in Cyprus and is believed to have entered the Republic through the Turkish-occupied north.

The two older suspects, aged 54 and 57, were arrested last week and are believed to have been in Cyprus for many years. Authorities are now examining their background and contacts. Local reports said both may have obtained Cypriot citizenship.
