As part of the Global Privacy Summit (GPS 2025) organized by the IAPP in Washington, D.C., the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority signed a Mutual Cooperation Agreement (MOU) with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) of the Philippines.

The Israeli Privacy Protection Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) of the Philippines on April 24, 2025. The agreement is intended to deepen cooperation between the authorities in areas such as personal data protection, knowledge sharing, strengthening cross-border enforcement, and promoting international standards in the field of data privacy.
Key areas of collaboration outlined in the agreement include: mutual understanding of legislative, procedural, and technological frameworks; initiation of joint knowledge-sharing activities; professional training programs; development of best practices; and strengthening international dialogue to address emerging privacy challenges.
The MOU was signed by Adv. Gilad Samama, Head of the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority, and Atty. John Henry Du Naga, Commissioner of the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines.

The signing ceremony took place during the final day of the Global Privacy Summit 2025, organized annually by the IAPP in Washington, D.C., USA.
This year’s summit covered a wide range of privacy-related topics, including artificial intelligence (AI) issues, the impact of advanced algorithms on personal data (Algorithms with Real-Life Data), privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), privacy engineering, and more.
During the summit, representatives of the Israeli Authority held working meetings with various stakeholders, including U.S. government officials, international regulatory counterparts, industry leaders, and Israeli legal professionals.

This step further strengthens the Authority’s standing on the international stage and highlights the critical importance of advancing privacy protection in an era of global data flows.
