The Minister of Communications, Dr. Shlomo Karai, stated: “We continue to shatter the shackles of bureaucracy and let citizens and the economy breathe freely. It is unfeasible that, in 2025, a citizen who wants a security camera for his home will have to leap frog between officials and unnecessary documents. We are here to remove barriers, lower prices and free consumers. We will continue to fight resolutely for the Israeli public and for the Israeli economy.”
The Director General of the Ministry of Communications, Elad Makdasi, stated: “The decision is part of a broad move that the Ministry of Communications is piloting to reduce regulation in a broad scope of areas. We will continue to work to remove barriers in order to allow the public quick and easy access to advanced technological products and services.”
The Minister of Communications, Dr. Shlomo Karai, announced another move to reduce regulations and, after receiving the recommendations of the professional team at the Ministry, decided today (Monday) to allow the unfettered personal importing of security cameras and doorbell cameras into Israel. According to the decision, personal importing of these products will no longer require an application for an import permit from the Ministry of Communications.
In the future, the Ministry of Communications will also act to permit the commercial importing of these products without the need for prior approval.
The decision is part of a broader move by the Ministry to reduce regulations and the need for import permits as much as possible, for the benefit of Israeli citizens and the market economy.
