Jerusalem, 28 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Innovation Authority publish a call for researchers in the field of AgData – agricultural data saying: “Israel joins the European effort to lead data-driven agriculture.”

Researchers from Israel who join the European AgData program will receive funding of up to €500,000 – from the EU – for data-based research that will “impact the future of agriculture and food security.”

The call focuses on the field of food security, and will deal with the development and management of agricultural data technologies, including the integration and processing of different types of data in order to enable the implementation of artificial intelligence methods. In addition, the call will deal with data-based solutions for sustainable agriculture, including the development of smart decision-making processes to deal with climate change.

Israeli researchers can participate in two designated tracks: the first track, intended for joint submissions with an Israeli corporation as part of international ag-tech partnerships, and an additional track with a volume of up to 50,000 euros, with an emphasis on food security, which also allows researchers to submit proposals without industrial support.

The AgData program’s vision is to lead agriculture into a data-driven era, where field information, digital technologies, and advanced analytical tools enable accurate and efficient decision-making. The partnership aims to strengthen agricultural production, improve climate preparedness, and create added value throughout the food chain, for the benefit of farmers and consumers.

The program partners with 16 countries, including Israel, the European Union, and countries associated with the Horizon Europe program, working together to leverage the potential of agricultural and environmental data and combine it with advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence.
