Netanyahu Orders Expansion of Lebanon Security Zone as Military Operations Continue
Prime Minister Netanyahu has ordered an expansion of the security zone in southern Lebanon as IDF operations continue to address threats.
Jerusalem, 29 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement from IDF (Israel Defense Forces) Northern Command saying that he has, “now instructed to further expand the existing security zone. We are determined to fundamentally change the situation in the north.”
Meanwhile, the IDF reported that its 769th (res.) Brigade (responsible for security along the border with Lebanon) is conducting focused ground activity to expand the security zone in southern Lebanon.
During the activity in the area, intelligence forces identified several armed terrorists entering a building there.
The forces directed an Air Force aircraft that attacked the building into which the terrorists had entered and eliminated them.
