Jerusalem, 3 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — During an operation by the IDF’s (Israel Defense Forces) 7th Armored Brigade to clear the Yellow Line ceasefire area in southern Gaza, approximately 110 mortar shells hidden in UNRWA (UN Relief Works Agency) humanitarian aid bags were located.
The operation was carried out to clear the area of above-ground and underground terrorist infrastructure and weapons of terrorist organizations in the Strip.
Israel banned UNWRA, which worked in Gaza, from operating in the country after it was proven that some of its own employees were Hamas terrorists who took part in the October 7 massacre. The Israeli government recently dismantled UNWRA’s Jerusalem offices.
The Yellow Line marks the areas where Israeli forces are continuing to operate under the Gaza ceasefire agreement: Israel controls everything to the east, north and south of the line and Hamas and other terrorists are prohibited from crossing it.
