Israel Strikes Hezbollah-Linked Cell Near Tri-Border Area
Israel's IDF killed Hezbollah-linked commander Maher Qassem Hamdan and seven terrorists near the Lebanese border with Syria.
Jerusalem, 9 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel on Thursday confirmed killing Maher Qassem Hamdan, the commander of the Hezbollah-linked Lebanese Companies terrorist organization.
“Hamdan was responsible for recruiting terrorists, supplying weapons and budgeting the Lebanese Companies in Shebaa region,” the Israel Defense Force said.
According to the IDF, Hamdan and seven other terrorists were killed while fleeing from the Shebaa region — near Lebanon’s border with Israel and Syria — towards the southern Lebanese area of Sidon.
