Jerusalem, 1 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin warned Israelis ahead of Passover that Iran and Hezbollah may attempt to launch attacks during the holiday, while stressing that the military remains on full offensive and defensive readiness under Operation Roaring Lion.

In a public address shortly before the holiday began, Defrin said the Iranian terrorist regime and the Hezbollah terrorist organization could fire toward Israeli territory in an effort to harm civilians. He said air defense systems are deployed across the country and prepared to intercept incoming threats, but cautioned that Israel’s defenses are not airtight.

“Even on the eve of the holiday, it is important to remember that the defense is not hermetic,” Defrin said, urging the public to continue following Home Front Command instructions.

He said the IDF would continue striking its enemies and described the operation’s results as building toward broader success. According to Defrin, Israeli forces overnight struck senior Hezbollah commanders in the heart of Beirut.

Defrin also praised Israeli soldiers serving across multiple fronts, along with the logistical and support systems sustaining the war effort. He addressed the families of troops who are not spending the holiday at home, telling them to take pride in their relatives’ service.

“They are acting with dedication, determination and responsibility for the security of the State of Israel and its civilians during this holiday as well,” he said.
