Hezbollah’s Nasser Unit Commander Hassan Salama Eliminated in Lebanon Airstrike
The IDF confirmed Hassan Salama, commander of Hezbollah's Nasser Unit, was eliminated Sunday in an Israeli airstrike in Jwaya, southern Lebanon.
Jerusalem, 10 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) confirmed that the commander of Hezbollah’s Nasser Unit, Hassan Salama, was eliminated on Sunday in a nighttime raid by the Israel Air Force in the Jwaya area In Southern Lebanon.
The Nasser Unit is one of three units responsible for the Hezbollah Terror organization’s activities in southern Lebanon.
Salama assumed the role of unit commander following the elimination of his predecessor, Abu Talab, in June 2024.
He was a veteran in the Hezbollah terror organization and held a series of long-standing roles within it, including commander of the Al- Khiam sector in southern Lebanon and deputy commander of operations in the Nasser unit.
Throughout his years in the organization, Salama acted extensively against the State of Israel and engaged in advancing numerous terror plots against civilians of the State of Israel, said the IDF.
