Jerusalem, 26 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police reported that its Yamam Counterterrorism Unit operated in Shechem (Nablus, on the northern end of Samaria) under guidance from the Shin Bet (Israel’s anti-terror General Security Service) arrested an unidentified Hamas terrorist who carried out shooting attacks and had been held in Palestinian security administrative detention since 2008.

The terrorist, a resident of Deir Abu Mash’al, in 2008 carried out several shooting attacks in the Deir Qaddis area, in which Israeli civilians were injured.

After carrying out the attacks, he fled and hid in administrative detention in Palestinian security mechanisms.

During the arrest attempt, the terrorist tried to flee from the forces, who in response carried out precise gunfire toward his lower body and arrested him.
