Earlier today, the Inspector General of the Police, Ranitz Danny Levi, visited the Gilad sector of the Judea and Samaria District, in the eastern border area, where he reviewed the activities of the Judea and Samaria District police officers and the West Bank Border Police fighters, with an emphasis on enforcement activities for governance and sovereignty.
The visit was attended by the Commander of the Judea and Samaria District, Superintendent Moshe Finchi, the Commander of the Border Police, Superintendent Barak Yitzhak, the Head of the Planning Division, Superintendent Yossi Ro’a, and the Commander of the Gilad sector, Chief Superintendent Nissim Ohayon.
During the visit, the Commander of the Judea and Samaria District reviewed the characteristics of the sector and the operational challenges, presented the operational concept of the sector, which includes tailored preparedness for challenges with the integration of technological means, coordination and cooperation with security forces, alongside enforcement and governance activities carried out as part of the effort to strengthen the sense of security of the residents of the area.
Also during the visit, the Inspector General toured various sites in the sector, met with the head of the Megilot Regional Council and the beach owners in the Dead Sea area, and visited the Allenby crossing. In addition, he reviewed the activities of the Jordan Valley unit, its challenges in the eastern border sector, and at the end of the tour, he met with representatives of the industrialists in the Adumim Plain area and with the mayor of Ma’ale Adumim, who presented him with the E1 area.
The Inspector General concluded and stated that “The Israel Police faces many complex challenges, but our commitment to strengthening sovereignty and governance, in all parts of the country, is decisive and uncompromising. The establishment of the Gilad sector in the Judea and Samaria District is a strategic and central pillar in realizing this vision. We are working to expand the arrays and reinforce the operational units, while understanding that the strength of the authorities is intertwined with the security of the police. The close cooperation with the leadership of the settlement is the key to creating national resilience in routine, and to the ability for decisive and strong response in times of emergency. We will continue to act with determination to increase personal security and deepen our hold in the area, for the peace of the public and the defense of the state.”
