Clarification from the National Security Council for Israelis Who Wish to Return to Israel from Abroad, and for Israelis Who Wish to Travel Abroad Not Through Ben Gurion Airport
The National Security Council advises Israelis abroad to use specific entry points when returning via Egypt or Jordan and to conceal Israeli/Jewish identifiers.
The National Security Council (NSC) recommends that Israelis returning to Israel through Egypt or Jordan only take flights that land in Taba, Aqaba or Amman, and not fly into other airports. Furthermore, the NSC recommends to not remain in Egypt and Jordan (the Level 4 travel warning for both countries is in full effect), but rather go directly from the airport to the nearest border crossing with Israel.
Additionally, travelers must adhere to the following safety precautions:
- Upon arrival in Egypt/Jordan, conceal anything that could identify you as Israeli or Jewish.
- Do not post updates or personal information on social media.
The NSC recommends that Israelis who are currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) return to Israel, if possible, on commercial flights. The NSC also recommends avoiding travel to the UAE, including taking flights to or from other destinations with stopovers in the UAE.
