Recently, the organization “Yeter Israel – The Mounted Tactical Unit” approached the Ministry of National Security with a request to declare it a rescue body under police orders, in light of its being an organization that provides immediate response in emergencies in Israel.
Following extensive staff work by the Emergency Department, in coordination with the Ministry’s legal counsel and the formulation of a legal opinion on the matter, the Minister of National Security decided last week to declare Yeter as a rescue body.
The declaration means, among other things, that this body will be authorized and responsible for taking all necessary measures for preparedness for a civilian emergency event and for preventing or reducing damage when an event occurs, within the scope it is entrusted with.
Rescue bodies in Israel constitute an important component of critical significance for assisting the police, which is responsible for command and control in a civilian emergency event.
