Jerusalem, 26 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) reported that forces of its 162nd “Steel” Division have begun in recent days what it called “focused ground operations” against additional targets in southern Lebanon together with the 91st Division – the Galilee Formation – and the 36th “Ga’ash (Rage)” Division.
After two years of fighting in the Gaza Strip and now with the completion of preparations for the mission in the northern sector, forces of the 162nd Division will operate at key targets in Southern Lebanon with the aim of expanding the security zone, this alongside the continuation of the forward defense mission of the divisions and the Northern Command’s effort to remove direct threats and create an additional layer of security for the residents of the north.
Prior to the entry of the forces, the IDF struck numerous terror infrastructures in the area using artillery and aircraft of the Air Force.
