Jerusalem, 25 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — In a joint operation by the Shin Bet (Israel’s anti-terror General Security Service), the Israel Police, and the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), a cell affiliated with the Hamas terrorist organization, consisting of 10 Palestinians from the village of Beita in Samaria, was foiled, which had been working to promote shooting and IED attacks for the past two years.
As part of the investigation, a large number of weapons were seized from the cell, including M16 weapons, explosives, and remote-controlled devices.
During their interrogation, it was revealed that the members of the cell carried out a series of attacks, including bombing, against IDF forces that were carried out in March-April 2025. In these attacks, three IDF soldiers were wounded, two of whom are in serious condition.
It also emerged that the members of the cell took part in a number of shooting attacks and were preparing to carry out additional significant bomb attacks, including intentions to carry out a kidnapping attack and even digging a tunnel for the purpose of the kidnapping attack.
The investigation also revealed that one of the members of the cell dug a tunnel about six meters deep behind his house, with the aim of imprisoning the kidnapped.
“The elimination of the Hamas cell constitutes a significant closing of a circle and resulted in the prevention of additional serious attacks planned by the cell members,” said the IDF.
