Over the past week, a command exercise was held in the Central Command simulating the development of a campaign in the command’s area, from the division commands up to the General Staff.
During the exercise, commanders’ decision-making processes were examined, and lessons learned were incorporated into operational orders. All necessary situation rooms were opened to formulate a situational picture and manage responses to various emergency scenarios, with the aim of examining the implementation of the defense concept, dealing with complex events, and transitioning from defense to offense.
Additionally, the command’s fire center, currently being established, was exercised for the first time.
During the exercise, the command was required to coordinate and synchronize efforts and operations between four divisions and the Civil Administration, which were also fully exercised, alongside inter-organizational cooperation with the Israel Police, Border Police, Shin Bet, and Magen David Adom.
The exercise was planned in advance as part of the Operations Directorate’s exercise schedule for 2026 and is part of the learning processes and strengthening of readiness in the IDF.
The IDF will continue to maintain and strengthen its fitness for dealing with the operational environment and the missions facing it.
