Rosh HaAyin residents warned of rabies risk after infected dog reported February 8, 2026. Seek immediate health office consultation if exposed to the animal.

Public

People who were exposed to the dog were referred for treatment. On February 8, 2026, a report was received about a medium-sized mixed-breed dog with light brown fur that was infected with Rabies in Rosh HaAyin.

We ask anyone who had contact with the infected animal or whose animals came into contact with it or with a stray animal in the area to urgently contact the Petah Tikva regional health office or the nearest health office to their residence to consider preventive treatment. Phone: 03-9051818.

After working hours and on weekends, please go to the emergency room at a hospital.

Ministry of Health requests:

  • Parents of children – check with your children if they were in contact with any suspicious animals and urgently contact the health office.
  • Pet owners – contact your licensed veterinarian to verify their vaccination status.
  • Share information about the incident with visitors and residents in the area and nearby communities.

The Ministry of Health reminds anyone bitten or scratched by an animal to immediately wash the area with running water and soap, disinfect with antiseptic, and visit the health office to determine if preventive rabies treatment is needed.
