The Israel Tax Authority, through the Jerusalem and Southern Investigations Tax Assessor, is conducting an investigation against Hanania Almalih, a Jerusalem resident engaged in egg marketing, on suspicion of concealing income exceeding 1 million NIS.
The investigation indicates that the suspect supplied eggs to various parties without reporting to the tax authorities and without opening a tax file. As part of the investigation, documents and invoices of various companies were found which reinforce the suspicions that the suspect supplied eggs to different customers without reporting his income. In addition, the suspect failed to maintain accounting books as required.
The findings of the investigation provide prima facie evidence that the suspect failed to report income in the amount of approximately 1.2 million NIS in the year 2024.
This week the investigation became overt, when investigators of the Israel Tax Authority conducted searches at the suspect’s home and seized documents and computer materials pursuant to a court order. Thereafter, the suspect was brought before the Magistrates’ Court in Jerusalem and was released under restrictive conditions. The investigation is ongoing.
