Jerusalem, 9 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Foreign Ministry responded to the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the first day of the war, February 28, by pointing out that he is as guilty of murder and terror as his father was.

“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” said the Ministry in a social media post. “Mojtaba Khamenei’s hands are already stained with the bloodshed that defined his father’s rule. Another tyrant to continue the Iranian regime’s brutality.”
