Israeli Authorities Intercept 30 Tons of Unlicensed Palestinian Produce
Israeli authorities seized 30 tons of unlicensed Palestinian dates and 720kg of meat near Jerusalem, uncovering forged documents and lack of veterinary.
Jerusalem, 5 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli ministry of Agriculture inspectors intercepted 30 tons of dates and 720 kilograms of meat smuggled from the Palestinian Authority. The dates, intended for the Nazareth market, were accompanied by forged shipping documents claiming an Israeli farmer from the Arava region as the source. Authorities became suspicious after discovering Arabic labeling on the packages.
Separately, inspectors stopped frozen beef being transported without veterinary certification or proper refrigeration near Jerusalem’s Anata checkpoint. The driver and trailer owner were detained.
The dates and meat were destroyed.
