Israel Launches New Program to Educate Youth in Green Energy
Israel launches "Swift – Youth Energy Leadership" program to train youth in green energy, focusing on the periphery and community projects for a healthier.
Jerusalem, 8 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure launched a national program to train youth in the field of green energy.
The “Swift – Youth Energy Leadership” program will operate throughout the country, with an emphasis on the periphery, and will train youth to develop green energy projects that contribute to the health of israeli citizens and the diversification of energy sources. The Ministry of Energy called on all Local authorities to join.
The program, which will be implemented in dozens of local authorities across the country, with an emphasis on authorities in the periphery, is based on experiential learning, community action, and social entrepreneurship. Within its framework, youth will be exposed to the worlds of energy efficiency and savings, renewable energy, storage, and clean transportation, and will translate the knowledge they acquire into actual action on the ground – within the community in which they live.
Within this framework, a youth group of 25-35 students from grades 8-10 will be established in each participating local authority, who will undergo an in-depth educational process that includes a series of meetings, professional guidance, and the development of a community project with local impact. Each group will identify an environmental or energy challenge in its immediate environment and develop an applied response – from outreach and education to innovative field initiatives.
