In light of the program’s success in local and regional authorities and given the ongoing state of emergency, the Authority for the Advancement of the Status of Women in the Ministry of Social Equality and the Advancement of the Status of Women, in cooperation with the Ministry of Welfare and Social Services, has launched the second cycle of the “Fighting Violence Against Women” program in local authorities across the country.
The program is designed to strengthen community responses at the local level, raise awareness, and create an urban safety net for women in cycles of violence.
The activity is led by the advisors for the advancement of the status of women in local authorities, in cooperation with the Welfare Department, with the aim of providing practical tools and professional guidance tailored to the community’s needs.
In its current cycle, the program has begun operating in dozens of local authorities nationwide.
Local authorities operating the program can choose from a number of activities such as workshops and lectures for identifying red flags for various and diverse target audiences, self-defense workshops, workshops for men, workshops for developing local female leadership to help eradicate violence in local authorities, and more.
We invite you to review the list of local authorities operating the program, attached below, and to stay updated on the planned activities in your area as part of the national effort to eradicate violence against women and create a safe and equitable space for every woman.
You can contact your local authority’s advisor for the advancement of the status of women directly through the contact details found on the authority’s website.
