This week (August 10), the Ministry of Environmental Protection‘s Unit for the Prevention of Air Pollution from Transportation, in cooperation with officers from the Environmental Protection Unit and the Ayarot Police Station, conducted an enforcement operation to prevent air pollution and noise from vehicles in towns in southern Israel. During the operation, 113 vehicles were inspected. Of these, 33 were taken off the road, and 21 fines were issued. 19 of the fines were issued by the police and two by the Ministry.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection places great importance on conducting enforcement activities against polluting and noisy vehicles. Therefore, the Ministry will continue to cooperate with all relevant parties to protect the environment and public health.
