Enforcement Operation Against Polluting and Noisy Vehicles in Towns in Southern Israel

This week (August 10), the Ministry of Environmental Protection‘s Unit for the Prevention of Air Pollution from Transportation, in cooperation with officers from the Environmental Protection Unit and the Ayarot Police Station, conducted an enforcement operation to prevent air pollution and noise from vehicles in towns in southern Israel. During the operation, 113 vehicles were inspected. Of these, 33 were taken off the road, and 21 fines were issued. 19 of the fines were issued by the police and two by the Ministry.

Itzik Sandroussi, Head of the Ministry of environmental Protection’s Unit for the Prevention of Air Pollution from Transportation: “Air pollution and noise caused by vehicles are nuisances that harm the environment and public health. The Ministry of Environmental Protection is determined to continue cooperating with all relevant parties to ensure a clean, healthy, and quiet environment for everyone”.
