Today, we visited Kfar Maccabiah and held a meeting with the leaders of the Maccabi World Movement to explore partnerships in the fields of culture and sports with the regional countries under the Ministry’s jurisdiction.

The meeting was led by the Ministry’s Director-General, Gilad Shadmon, alongside representatives from the Maccabi organization: Amir Gissin, CEO of Maccabi; Carlos Tapiero, Deputy Director-General for Education; Ilana Ben Nemar-Kvazai, Head of the Europe, Australia, and Asia Desk; and Nurit Tineri, Head of the Department for Cultural Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Following the meeting, we toured the “Unbreakable” exhibition, displayed at the World Jewish Sports Museum in Kfar Maccabiah. The exhibition, curated by journalist Adi Rubinstein, focuses on the connection between sports and the events of October 7th, highlighting the resilience of Israeli society as reflected in various sports stories in the shadow of the war.

This visit reinforced our shared commitment to promoting cultural and sports initiatives in cooperation with the countries of the region while preserving our shared heritage and values. Sports serve as an anchor for cooperation, transcending borders, cultures, and nations, connecting communities and people around values of excellence, tolerance, and collaboration.
