Israel Investing Millions for Communications Innovation in the Negev
Israel is investing 4 million Shekels ($1.28M) in Western Negev communications innovation, uniting tech giants and startups to advance infrastructure.
Jerusalem, 9 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Communications and the Innovation Authority will invest 4 million Shekels ($1.28 million) in a communications innovation project in the Western Negev through the Western negev technology Center for Security and Resilience.
The goal of the venture is to encourage technological and regional innovation in the Western Negev by establishing a network of partners in the field of advanced communications infrastructure, whose partners include government ministries, local authorities, communications companies, and startups.
Some of the companies participating in the project: Nokia, Pelephone, Bezeq, Hot, Partner, and Cellcom – have also joined as partners to help promote the vision of innovation, out of a commitment to strengthening innovation in the communications infrastructure market. Joining is open to other companies from the communications and technology sectors, as well as other relevant entities.
The project will include establishing pilot sites in selected local authorities in the Western Negev region and allocating resources to conduct pilots by startup companies in order to promote innovative solutions in the communications infrastructure sector.
