Dear Senior Citizens,
In recent days, false rumors have once again spread on social networks that the validity of senior citizen certificates held by the public is about to expire and they will not be honored. We wish to clarify that these claimsare not true. Indeed, over the past few years, the Ministry has upgraded the senior citizen certificate both in terms of design, including the option to add the senior citizen’s photo, and in terms of usage, with the addition of a magnetic stripe and barcode.
For some time now, the Ministry has been undertaking various initiatives aimed at facilitating the use of senior citizen certificates for realizing discounts and benefits funded by the Ministry, for example, through a magnetic stripe. It should be clarified that there is no impediment to continuing to realize discounts by presenting senior citizen certificates issued to date.
It is important for you to know, the simplest and most convenient way to apply for a senior citizen card is through the online form: https://form.mse.gov.il/seniorcard.
