“This is a room waiting for its sounds to return. Its joy…”

Israel's Embassy in Baku revitalizes a silent, water-damaged music room at a school for disabled children, restoring hope and joy with a complete renovation.

Thus described Israel’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ronen Krausz, and his Deputy, Aviv Tzel, the moment they first entered the abandoned music room at a boarding school for children with disabilities located on the outskirts of Baku (Boarding School No. 4).

The room, which had been closed for years due to water damage, a crumbling ceiling, and mold, stood abandoned and… silent. But the Embassy of Israel in Baku believed it was possible to bring it back to life. Thanks to the support of the Ministry for Regional Cooperation, the room was completely renovated:
the plumbing was replaced, the ceiling was sealed, the walls were repainted, new lighting and flooring were installed — and the room once again became a space of hope, joy, and living, breathing music.

On December 24, a moving inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of the Ambassador, the school’s principal, and local media.

The Ministry for Regional Cooperation is proud to be part of a project that proves: even a single sound can change reality.
