Rompfler sentenced to 24 months for child violence, assault causing actual bodily harm under aggravating circumstances, and violating a legal order.

According to the verdict, the defendant was a partner in an incident where the child was stripped, placed on a table, and beaten on his back and buttocks, in front of his peers. For these actions, the defendant was convicted of the offense of assault causing actual bodily harm under aggravating circumstances. In addition, the defendant was convicted of the offense of violating a legal order, after he left Israel in violation of an exit ban and fled from the fear of judgment.

The defendant was arrested abroad and extradited to Israel in a process managed by the International Department of the State Attorney’s Office.

In its sentencing arguments, the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office, through Adv. Tzur Chuta, emphasized the extreme severity of harming a helpless minor, which was carried out within a closed community and by exploiting status and authority.

The court adopted the arrangement presented to it and determined that “the facts detailed in the first charge concerning the assault are severe and chilling.”

As part of the arrangement, the court sentenced the defendant to 24 months of actual imprisonment, deducting his arrest days, suspended sentences, a fine of NIS 10,000, and compensation to the victim of NIS 12,000.
