Description: The Ministry of Health reports a sheep infected with Rabies in an open area near the village of Ghajar in the upper galilee. Five people who were exposed to the sheep were referred to receive preventive Rabies treatment. The report about the infected sheep was received today, January 5, 2026.
Dates: December 10, 2025 through December 31, 2025 (inclusive)
Instructions:
Anyone who had contact, or whose animals had contact, in the incident area with the infected animal or with a stray animal during the dates listed above is asked to urgently contact the Safed Health Bureau at 04-699-4257 or 04-699-4200, or the health bureau closest to their place of residence, to assess the need for preventive treatment.
After business hours and on weekends, please go to a hospital emergency room.
