Description: The Ministry of Health reports on a domestic dog infected with Rabies in an orchard near the town of Yuval in the upper galilee. Six people who were exposed to the dog have been referred for preventive treatment against Rabies. The notification about the infected dog was received today, January 6, 2026.
Dates: December 19, 2025, to January 4, 2026, inclusive

We request that anyone who was in contact, or whose animals were in contact, in the incident area with the infected animal or a stray animal, on the dates mentioned above, urgently contact the Ministry of Health office in Safed, telephone 04-6994257, 04-6994200, or the Ministry of Health office closest to their residence, to consider the need for preventive treatment for them.
After working hours and during the weekend, please go to the emergency room at a hospital.
We request that information about the incident be passed on to travelers and vacationers in the area and in nearby towns.
Pet owners are requested to contact the local veterinarian/Eastern Galilee Cluster (*8451), to verify their vaccination status.
