Jerusalem prosecutor indicts man for violent robbery of disabled person, beating him and stealing a phone worth 3,700 shekels and over 400 shekels.

According to the indictment, filed by Adv. Amir Drausha from the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office, the complainant, who functions at a level of mild intellectual developmental disability and also suffers from scoliosis, was walking in the evening on Jaffa Street in Jerusalem, near a falafel stand.

At that time, the complainant was holding a phone, and in the phone’s case was a sum of money of about 400 shekels. According to the indictment, Rajabi and another person noticed the complainant walking alone and decided to rob him. The two approached the complainant, led him to a nearby alley, where they jointly beat him, knocked him to the ground, and kicked him. Subsequently, the two returned to the complainant once more, beat him again with punches and kicks, and while one of them held a knife, threatened to stab him if he did not hand over the phone.

Later, the two took the phone and the money, and threatened the complainant that they would stab him if he did not give them the access code to the device, and the complainant gave them the code. According to the indictment, the two fled the scene after robbing the complainant of a phone worth about 3,700 shekels and a sum of money of over 400 shekels.
