President’s Residence:
One year after his visit amidst the war: The President of the State returns to Kibbutz Menara and re-inaugurates the kindergarten that sustained a direct missile hit

The President of the State, Isaac Herzog, visited this morning, Thursday, 19th of Tevet, January 8th, Kibbutz Menara in the Upper Galilee, one year after his visit to the kibbutz, which took place in the midst of the war.

In December 2024, the President of the State visited Kibbutz Menara, which sustained severe damage during the war, and there he visited the kindergarten that sustained a direct hit from a missile fired by the Hezbollah terrorist organization. This morning, the President of the State re-inaugurated that same kindergarten, as a symbol of the kibbutz’s revival. The President then proceeded to an open dialogue session with the residents.
The President of the State said: “Michal and I were here during the war, in the most difficult days, and there is nothing more moving and joyous than to see our settlements on the border, on the border with Lebanon, slowly returning to life and flourishing anew – here in Menara. To see this charming kindergarten inaugurated and opened with these amazing children, the future generation of the State of Israel, from here the good news will emerge – from Menara and from all the North. Go forth and succeed.”

Assaf Langlben, Head of the Upper Galilee Regional Council: “Kibbutz Menara, like the surrounding settlements, has gone through a challenging period that we are leaving behind. We are looking forward – to growth, to absorbing new families, and to returning home. We are happy to host the President of the State and his wife, and we call on anyone who wishes to strengthen the North – to come, visit, and join us in the kibbutzim.”
