The guide is intended for use by individuals responsible for assessing privacy risks and implementing appropriate solutions in projects for the development of digital systems and services that include artificial intelligence components. As such, the guide is relevant to Data Protection Officers (DPOs) and legal counsel dealing with privacy aspects in projects that integrate artificial intelligence, as well as to product managers and project managers involved in the development, implementation, and operation of AI-based systems in digital services and products.
The document presents privacy-enhancing technologies and their application to the world of artificial intelligence, explaining their operating principles to achieve privacy protection goals. Each technology is accompanied, where relevant, by examples or illustrations that demonstrate its core mechanism. The document also presents key considerations for the practical implementation of each technology, alongside examples of applications from various fields and content areas in the context of artificial intelligence, where possible. In addition, challenges, limitations, and risks associated with implementation are mentioned, highlighting issues that require special attention.
