North police seize 16 luxury cars from tax debtors

Israel's Tax Authority and police seized 16 luxury cars from tax debtors in northern Israel yesterday, boosting enforcement against evasion to ensure legal tax.

Yesterday (01/11/26), employees of the Northern Collection Enforcement Unit of the Tax Authority (Execution and Collection Haifa) acted against tax evaders in the north of the country in the localities of Bu’eine Nujeidat and Tur’an. As part of the operation, 16 vehicles belonging to taxpayers who accumulated debts to VAT and Income Tax were seized and impounded.

The operation was preceded by field intelligence work to locate the vehicles and deliver warnings to the debtors’ homes. In addition to the unit’s employees and police officers, the Tiberias VAT station, Tiberias police officers from the Northern District, and Kinneret riot police officers participated.

This is within the framework of the policy to increase enforcement activities to improve and preserve deterrence, including by conducting field operations, whose purpose is to lead to true reporting and tax collection according to the law.
