Jerusalem, 12 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Netanyahu. before his departure back to Israel after a diplomatic visit to Washington, spoke to the press and called President Trump Israel’s “great friend” and said the two have a “very close, very real and very open connection.”
“The president thinks that the Iranians have already learned who they are dealing with,” said Netanyahu. “He thinks that the conditions he is creating, combined with the fact that they probably understand that they were wrong the last time they did not make a deal, could create the conditions for achieving a good deal.”
“I will not hide from you that I expressed general skepticism about the nature of any agreement with Iran,” he added. “But I said that if an agreement is indeed reached, then it must include the elements that are very important from our perspective, from Israel’s perspective, and in my opinion not only Israel’s perspective.”
“It’s not just the nuclear issue, it’s also the ballistic missiles and it’s also the Iranian proxies. That’s the end of the conversation, I would say, although it of course touched on Gaza and the entire region and other general things.”
“In any case, another conversation with a huge friend of the State of Israel who was like no other.”
