Israel Welcomes First U.S. Consular Services in Gush Etzion
The U.S. Embassy will provide pop-up consular services in Efrat, Judea and Samaria, a first for the region, announced Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.
Jerusalem, 25 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar praised the U.S. announcement that it will offer pop-up consular services in Efrat, the first time it is doing so in Judea and Samaria.
“We also appreciate the important decision of the US Embassy to expand its consular services to Efrat, Judea and Samaria. This is what moral leadership looks like,” Sa’ar said at a Knesset event marking 250th anniversary of the U.S.
More than 20,000 Israelis live in a cluster of communities the Gush Etzion region south of Jerusalem. Efrat, Alon Shvut and Kfar Etzion are known for having sizable numbers of immigrants from the U.S. and other English-speaking countries.
