Israel Razes Hamas Weapons Factory, Ministers to Discuss Reoccupying Gaza

Jerusalem, 6 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel continued pressing Hamas as air strikes and ground operations continued to demolish terror assets around Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces said on Wednesday, one day before the Security Cabinet was scheduled to discuss reoccupying the Gaza Strip.

Among the targets was a weapons production site in Gaza City’s Al-Furqan neighborhood. Measures to mitigate civilian harm included evacuation warnings, aerial surveillance, and the use of smart munitions.

In other areas of northern Gaza, soldiers dismantled Hamas infrastructure above and below ground. Additionally, in Daraj Tuffah, approximately 10 terrorists spotted near ground forces were eliminated by an aerial drone.

Troops in southern Gaza dismantled Hamas infrastructure, eliminated terrorists, and located what the IDF called “several significant tunnel shafts.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Netanyahu is due to convene his Security Cabinet on Thursday evening in which ministers are expected to approve a plan to reoccupy Gaza.

Approximately 1,200 people were killed, and 252 Israelis and foreigners were taken hostage in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on October 7. Of the 50 remaining Hostages, around 30 are believed to be dead.
