Indictment filed for barbershop shooting in Kafr Mandi, gravely injuring one person. Accused threatened owner, fired pistol, causing serious harm and property.

According to the Indictment, filed by Adv. Shir Shalom Peretz from the Haifa District Attorney’s Office (Criminal), the accused equipped himself with a pistol and a magazine with bullets, and possessed and carried them without a legal permit. Subsequently, the accused arrived at a barbershop in the village of Kafr Mandi and demanded that the owner close the business by 11:00 PM, threatening him by saying, “I will show you, my shooting probably needs to be impactful.”

It was further alleged that later, the accused decided to shoot at the barbershop to frighten and instill terror. As part of this, a minor, a relative of the accused, was sent to the location, who conveyed a message to the barbershop owner that he must close the business by 11:35 PM.

Later that night, the accused arrived near the barbershop, armed, cocked the pistol, and fired several shots into the air as well as at the barbershop. As a result of the shooting, a person present at the location was hit in the face and sustained serious injuries. The complainant was evacuated for medical treatment and hospitalized for 13 days, during which he was sedated and ventilated, and underwent surgery to remove a bullet from his body. In addition, damage was caused to the entrance door of the barbershop. After the shooting, the accused hid the pistol in a location unknown to the prosecution, with the intention of concealing evidence and preventing or obstructing judicial proceedings.

The accused is charged with offenses of possessing and carrying a weapon and ammunition without a license, firing a firearm in a residential area in a manner that endangers human life (two offenses), threats, grievous bodily harm under aggravating circumstances, malicious damage, and obstruction of justice.
